Problems to be solved (justification of the need of the transnational cooperation):

. The main purpose with the project Healthy working places is to find efficient methods to prevent sick leave. The method is tried out within three very different company contexts, (NGO, private and public participants). Five hundred employees will actively participate and approximately four thousand will hopefully notice sustainable results due to the project.. The question asked is; in what matter social and psychological issues at work affect health among employees. The project will focus on identifying factors that contribute to perceived job satisfaction and find measures that could effectively strengthen them. The working hypothesis is that employees who are satisfied with their situation have a higher attendance than those who are displeased. The overall project objective is to tailor skill enhancement initiatives to strengthen health factors and reduce illness in diverse organizations.

Objectives to be achieved: The aim is to increase the experience of job satisfaction and measure the effect it will have for reduced sick leave. The vision is to create a concept as how to strengthen health factors and circulate it as a working-model called the “Järfälla concept for healthy workplaces”. Our intension is to be able to spread this concept both on national and international bases. Due to the disparate company environments (though within the same region of Stockholm, Sweden),. we find it very interesting to study the possibility of applying the results also in a disparate international context.
Main transnational activities (as provisionally planned, to be confirmed with partners): During the period Jan 2012 to March 2013 the project organisation will take part, study and visit at least two similar projects/ studies within the European Union. During the same time we aim to invite international partners to seminars where we will present our results. Furthermore we will visit and show good examples among the participating organisations.
Planned deliverables & outcomes of TNC: We believe that the need of models to improve social and psychological issues among employees is similar regardless of the nationality. As workforce is assumed to move easier and faster within the European Union the need to find models that suite on a generic basis will increase. An international cooperation regarding preventing sick leave should be noticed as high priority on the political agenda.
