Name of institution: UNIVERSITY OF ENVIRONMENTAL SCIENCES
Type of the organization:
  • University, research institution
Country:
  • Poland
Thematic scope of the project:
  • Businesses undergoing change
  • Education and training
Problems to be solved (justification of the need of the transnational cooperation):

The noticeable problem in the Kuyavian-Pomeranian region is the lack of experience with introducing, testing and implementing new training offers and best practices within aircraft mechanic vocational training system. Also the cooperation between local labour market and science is insufficient.
The aim of the Project is to stimulate cooperation between local business (service management of civil, military and sports air- ports, airlines, aviation construction bureaus, aviation emergency services, aircraft repair shops and companies, associations and foundations dedicated to national security, aviation units of border security and customs services) and research institutions in training solutions for the aviation industry.
Universities must anticipate the needs of the local labour market and help to build the knowledge and skills that  enterprises and workers will need in future. The need of the transnational cooperation is to transfer good solutions from foreign partner such as aviation enterprises, NGOs, Universities, research institutions and adapting it to local situation. These organizations are all involved in vocational training, so communication between them is critical for the relevance and effectiveness of training programs – and also for the design and implementation of innovative approaches to lifelong learning.

Objectives to be achieved: Transfer of best practices of cooperation between business (aviation industry) and science from a foreign partner to the local university (UNIVERSITY OF ENVIRONMENTAL SCIENCES); Creation, testing and implementation of the innovative model solutions for modernizing and upgrading the Aircraft Mechanic Vocational Training System (correct PART – 66 LICENSE) - Model of Dual Training System that combines interactive courseware capabilities and training simulators to create a total training system that provides hands-on skills development. Since it is always better to learn by doing, simulators help students to retain more knowledge and develop skills. Using the actual equipment from these machines, we are able to create a no-risk, virtual 3D environment, allowing students to increase the efficiency of their training programs. The project will be implemented with the contribution of the transnational partners who have considerable experience with introducing, testing and implementing new training offer and best practices within aircraftsman vocational training system.
Main transnational activities (as provisionally planned, to be confirmed with partners): Meetings and study visits; Exchange of information, experience and best practices/Consultancy; Creation of new solutions including innovative Aircraft Mechanic Vocational Training System; Import of new method(s) of cooperation between business and university and adapting it to local situation.
Planned deliverables & outcomes of TNC: The following results and products are planned to be achieved according to the abovementioned objectives under the established transnational cooperation (prepared with the contribution of transnational partner and by the project leader in Poland): 1. Creation, testing and implementation of the innovating Aircraft Mechanic Vocational Training System (correct PART – 66 LICENSE): theoretical part: based on e-learning courses; practical part: air application – a training simulator connected with system of practice in local enterprises. 2. Publication - Innovative Methods of Modernization of Educational Offer based on Transnational Partner Best Practice prepared with the contribution of transnational partner and by the project leader in Poland for future users in country. The results of implementation of Aircraft Mechanic Vocational Training System will increase accessibility to training system. The training system will support the opportunities of self-education and it will reduce the costs of the training system by use of virtual learning aids.
