Problems to be solved (justification of the need of the transnational cooperation):

Research Project Management (RPM) education programmes are very heterogeneous in Europe. This variety refers both to curriculum contents and training quality. The lack of common RPM guidance, which combines best European practices and know-how in research project acquisition, coordination and evaluation directly results in Research Project Managers (PMs) competences disparities between countries and even domestic training institutions. In order to build and strength the profession unified complex Research PMs education path is required.

Objectives to be achieved: The main objective of the Project is to elaborate, implement and disseminate unified Research PMs education path in selected regions in Project Partners countries. The complex support will cover training standards and curriculum specifications. The results of the study on European RPM education programmes will become a foundation for creating the educational framework for Research PMs Professional, Research PMs certification and the training providers’ accreditation procedures. The training framework elaboration will base on current project “Research project management and commercialization of research results. The postgraduate studies for employees of scientific institutions and entities dedicated to science” (2010-2013;1.5mln euro) experiences and the results of research conducted by Project Partners. Furthermore, by providing high qualified Research PMs, the initiative will contribute to improvement of existing science institutions research activities – increase of innovation, research project effectiveness and capacities of science institutions as well as their R&D circles.
Main transnational activities (as provisionally planned, to be confirmed with partners): Conduction of surveys refer to training needs and opinions expressed by PM professionals and experts Identification and analyzing of training programmes available in RPM thought Europe (especially in Project Partner country) Co-elaboration of Research PMs education path Implementation and dissemination of Research PMs education path in selected regions in Project Partner country Conducting training for Research PMs
