Launching a unit faculty Applied Informatics in response to labour market demand

Problems to be solved (justification of the need of the transnational cooperation):
  • CUE does not belong to the international network of universities that conduct the Applied Informatics courses in English;
  • Lack of access to foreign universities experience in Applied Informatics teaching;
  • Inability to compare CUE Applied Informatics curriculum with European universities education standards;
  • Insufficient contact with foreign Applied Informatics lecturers and limited opportunity to increase their participation in conducting the courses in English at CUE - it causes the dificculties in comparing and upgrading teaching methods and tools and limits the possibilities of preparing the graduates for European labour market demands;
  • Lack of experience in transferring the knowledge into practice due to the limited possibilities of involving international companies practitioners in learning process;
  • Limited opportunities of promoting CUE’s Applied Informatics on European educational market ;
  • Limited opportunities of CUE’s Applied Informatics teaching internationalization.
Objectives to be achieved: CUE accession to the international network of universities that conduct the Applied Informatics courses in English; Adjustment of the Applied Informatics curriculum to European educational standards; The exchange of best practices in the field of Applied Informatics teaching; Elaboration and development of a system of joint/double degrees for Applied Informatics graduates; The establishment of long-term educational and research collaboration with foreign partners, including the establishment of permanent contacts with the representatives and lecturers of foreign universities; Promotion of CUE’s Applied Informatics curriculum at European educational market.

Planned deliverables & outcomes of TNC: Acquainting CUE’s lecturers with the best foreign practices in the field of Applied Informatics teaching; ‘Best practices guide’ elaboration200 copies + 200 CDs: 15.600,00 PLN Regular exchange of lecturers in response to Applied Informatics faculty demands; Increase of Applied Informatics graduates competencies and qualifications, achievement of new valuable experiences; Adjustment of CUE’s Applied Informatics curriculum to Polish and European labour market demands (current curriculum updates); Implementation of foreign Applied Informatics teaching methods and tools at CUE.
