Type of the organization: Thematic scope of the project: Problems to be solved (justification of the need of the transnational cooperation): The situation of the unemployed aged 50+ in the labor market of Opole voivodeship is complicated. The latest studies show that these kind of people often face discrimination because of age and they are usually guardians of their parent or grandchildren. This situation causes that they have problems with return into labour market. In addition their qualifications are not as good as young people have. All these factors gathered together are responsible for unfavourable situation of the unemployed aged 50+. Current demographical trends show that population growth is decreasing and at the same time the average life duration is increasing. As a result the government proposes to lengthen the retiring age. That is why activation of the unemployed aged 50+ may be the key to the socio-economic development. So far the support of the unemployed in Poland is not diverse according to age. In this case the individual model of the support could be effective.
Objectives to be achieved: To raise the knowledge and the skills of employees of public employment services (PES) in the field of occupational counseling and placement services for the unemployed aged 50 +.
Main transnational activities (as provisionally planned, to be confirmed with partners):
Study visit in the country of project’s partner which aim is to familiarize with the model of acting to support the unemployed aged 50 +. In the said visit PES employees will take part;
Consultation with the partner for adapting the model to the Polish conditions.
Planned deliverables & outcomes of TNC: Model of acting to support the unemployed aged 50 + which can help to reintegrate into the labour market and which can be used by career adviser and employment agents.
