Problems to be solved (justification of the need of the transnational cooperation): There is a significant unemployment rate among adults ages 18 to 34, as well as an increase in the suicide numbers among young people. Moreover, formal education system does not equip the young with elementary skills which may help them live in modern society such as: effective interpersonal communication, self-awareness and ability to manage difficult emotions. All the above may contribute to the sense of confusion and lack of understanding self and others.
Another problem is vocational education of young people. The status of trade schools is in decline, yet there is lack of craftsmen in the market. Young people very seldom decide to start their own businesses and many of them choose to emigrate.
In the Podkarpackie Voivodship there is no youth centre dedicated to comprehensive development of young people. What is more, there is no model of such centre in Poland.
Objectives to be achieved: Stimulation and improving work ability among adults ages 18 to 34 by the Youth Centre activities.
Main transnational activities (as provisionally planned, to be confirmed with partners): Exploring models for youth centres within EU countries; Developing standards for the youth centre in the Podkarpackie Voivodship; Professional trainings for the staff of the youth centre in the Podkarpackie Voivodship.
Planned deliverables & outcomes of TNC: Establishing the pilot Youth Centre in the Podkarpackie Voivodship; Obtaining practical skills and qualifications by adults ages 18 to 34, due to participation in the activities provided by the Youth Centre in the Podkarpackie Voivodship.
