Type of the organization: Thematic scope of the project: Problems to be solved (justification of the need of the transnational cooperation): The realization of the project is a response to the passivity in the field of satisfying the institutional care of the child till the age of 3, the result of which is preserving the scheme of dual load of women by work and family obligations.
Research confirm the existence of the traditional family model. 90% of Polish women and men claim that the person who is responsible for the care of home and children is a woman. (Source: Stefan Batory Foundation “Everything about Eve” 2011), which emphasizes that these are the women who are forced to work part-time, or even to break their career in order to take care of children. In the opinion of young parents the biggest problem in combining work and family life is taking care of a small child (57,6%). What is worth highlighting is the fact that it mainly touches women than men (61,5% vs 46,1%) – Source: Higher Economic School (WSE) Białystok 2011 “Combining work and family life in Poland”. Combining work and care of a small child (with family duties) is concerned to be only the problem of women. According to the Final Report of the Project “Combining family and work roles of women and men” 2009 conducted by the Centre of Development of Human Resources in the cooperation with the Ministry of Work and Social Politics, Activity 1.1 POKL, the model of care based on family members, using personal engagement of one of parents (more often mother), or relatives (more often also women) is used by 1/3 of parents of children till the age of 14 (34,2%).
Objectives to be achieved: The creation of convenient conditions to combine both work and family life of parents and simultaneously NGO workers from the city of Białystok through providing of the care for the child till the age of 3 in the near-institution kindergarten till 31.12.2014.The increase of opportunities of coming back/entering the job market of 15 parents (12 women and 3 men) through providing of care for their children in the kindergarten till 31.12.2014.Exploitation of good practices transferred from the transnational Partner in the field of the care for children till the age of 3 in the kindergarten till 31.12.2014.
Main transnational activities (as provisionally planned, to be confirmed with partners): Three study visits are planned to be conducted – two visits in the transnational Partner’s country, and one in Poland. During these study visits the panel of experts, including those from the field of the work with children till the age of 3. Moreover, at the end of the project there is going to be a conference, summing up the realization of the project, into which the transnational Partner is going to be invited.
Planned deliverables & outcomes of TNC: The main aim of introducing of the transnational component into the standard project is the implementation of good practices from the country where the level of usage of the kindergarten services is higher than in Poland. We would like to focus on the methods of work with small children till the age of 3 used by our Partner and to implement these methods into our system, of course taking into account possibilities of adjusting new solutions.
