Problems to be solved (justification of the need of the transnational cooperation): The project will focus on people who have some form of cognitive or neuropsychiatric disability, often combined with mental health difficulties, and are in the borderland between daily care and the labor market. This group of people is in need of significant support of the right kind in order to establish themselves in the labor market. We have seen that in our municipality there is a lack of coordination between various activities for the target group and the methods in use are not sufficiently tailored to individual needs.
Transnational exchange of experience can bring to the project new and broader perspective. Sharing experiences with people living and working in a different context can help in developing ideas, methods and structures in a way that we would not get with only Sweden as working field.
Objectives to be achieved: The overall objective in the long term is to provide the target group with increased possibilities to approach the labor market, paying particular attention to identifying and removing the structural barriers, developing collaboration and preparing the target group for employment and integration.
Main transnational activities (as provisionally planned, to be confirmed with partners): Visiting the projects of one another in order to exchange information and share experiences and results. To learn from each other and broaden our perspectives, with the possibility of importing and adapting ideas, solutions and/or methods to Swedish conditions and to spread the results of our project.
Planned deliverables & outcomes of TNC: To learn how other countries deal with the challenge of developing and sustaining efficient cooperation between different organisations and how other countries support people far away from the labor market to get closer to the labor market and how they approach and work with persons with mental disabilities.
