Problems to be solved (justification of the need of the transnational cooperation):

A large group of men and women are currently unemployed and far from the labour market. People in this group are long-term unemployed and/or on sick leave and have a great need for assistance to find their way to work and self-sufficiency. This group, we want to support through a joint project between the local labour market activities, Insurance Agency, Social- and Employment Service in Piteå and Arvidsjaur. The project is based on an individual-focused approach.
For this target group there is a need for coordination between authorities since individuals often have contacts and need support from different authorities. To support them to actively participate in the labour market can mitigate the individual suffering and lower the community costs.
Within the region, we have an aging population of working age. In order to secure labour supply in both the public sector as in private industry, we want to support all people who have the opportunity to participate in working life.
