Name of institution: Eureka Technology Park
Type of the organization:
  • Private
Country:
  • Poland
Thematic scope of the project:
  • Access to employment and social inclusion
Problems to be solved (justification of the need of the transnational cooperation):

Polish and European efforts to boost the economic growth are currently hampered by high unemployment rate among the youth (25,8% in Poland, 21,4% in EU, according to the Eurostat in 2011). Young people remain jobless, in spite of their education and skills, due to unfavourable economic situation in Europe. The methods of solving this issue, that are presently in use, seem to be inefficient, as the number of young unemployed is gradually rising every year. The situation calls for a special initiative, aiming at the popularisation, support  and sustainability of self-employment and small businesses started and run by young people. By offering financial help and favourable conditions (including the HUB facility at disposal of Eureka TP), the projects aims to enable the people under 25 to implement their ideas and prepare them for operations on the competitive market.

The issue should also be considered from a wider point of view, encompassing the whole of the Europe. Releasing the enormous potential of creative and energetic people aged under 25 is of fundamental importance to the swift recovery after the economic crisis in the European Union.

Objectives to be achieved: •    Decrease of unemployment rate among the young people through initiation of self-employment•    General decrease of unemployment in Poland and EU•    Promotion of self-employment among the under 25 unemployed/not active on the labour market•    Selection of the best business ideas which would be offered financial support in the initial phase•    Sustaining the newly established start-ups by offering favourable working conditions (specially designated HUB office facility)•    Dissemination of success stories and entrepreneurial activation model
Main transnational activities (as provisionally planned, to be confirmed with partners): •    Study visits and conferences•    Sharing ideas and good practices•    Joint training sessions for the participants•    Good practice exchange visits for the best participants of the project•    Common development of an adaptable business support programme for the young entrepreneurs•    International cooperation on project results dissemination
Planned deliverables & outcomes of TNC: •    Report on the present situation of the young unemployed and their willingness to embark on their own enterprises•    Activation model, including textbooks for trainers and procedures of the best business ideas selection•    International marketing campaign, encouraging the companies already present on the market to cooperate with the start-ups participating in the programme•    Development of a website for the project•    International report on the effects of the programmes in participating countries•    Effect: increased number of active start-ups, established and run by young people.
