Problems to be solved (justification of the need of the transnational cooperation):

The target group in the project is teachers and social workers from seven municipalities around Gothenburg.
The aim of our project is to develop cooperation and methodology between school and social services around children at  risk (children in foster care, children not attending school, children with parents with psycho social problems, preventing children to attend criminal gangs). We want to deliver coordinated and simultaneous services and that the staff will be more successful in helping the children to manage school and have a good health. We also want to involve other authorities or organizations working with the children e.g police, health care, sports clubs, cultural organizations.

Objectives to be achieved: Our wish is to meet staff in other countries working with similar problems to  interchange experiences, get influenced and inspired by other´s work and hopefully learn new methods and ways to tackle the challenges included in this work. We are very interested in how the collaboration and cooperation  between school and the social services is organized, how others work with children at risk in school e.g how they motivate pupils not attending school, how children in foster care can get help to manage school, how children in dysfunctional families can be helped to manage school.
Main transnational activities (as provisionally planned, to be confirmed with partners): Study visits and, if possible, attending conferences. We also look forward to receive visitors from other projects financed by The European Social Fund.
Planned deliverables & outcomes of TNC: We are sure that meeting staff from school and social services from other countries will enrich the work of the staff in our project. To meet people from countries and municipalities organized in a different way that we are will get input to our work that would´nt be possible just meeting people from Sweden.
